Welcome to the Geohazards research group at the University of Utah, Department of Geology & Geophysics. Our group studies the mechanics of physical processes driving natural hazards and shaping the evolution of bedrock landscapes, relying heavily on field observations and monitoring data to address problems related to rock mechanics, slope stability, alpine geomorphology, and engineering seismology, with special emphasis on rock falls, rock slides and rock avalanches.

Interested in MS projects? We may have an opening in one of two topic areas relating to slope stability characterization and monitoring. Please contact Jeff Moore.
